8 Wishes
1) Raise $1 million dollars I want to raise $1 million dollars for children with learning disabilities and dyslexia. $10,000 scholarships will go to 100 kids to use at a college of their choice. $3000 will go towards testing if they choose or they could use the whole amount at the college of their choice.
2) 100 million views I want to get 100 million views of my 10,000 mile video! This should be a big enough crowd to reach our goal of raising 1 million dollars for kids with learning differences. Also, more people will know about SoloRide and hopefully sell at least 1% of those views, or 1,000,000 will buy the documentary.
3) Be interviewed by Oprah Through the power of media, Oprah Winfrey has created an unparalleled connection with people around the world. The Oprah Winfrey Show has entertained, enlightened and uplifted millions of viewers for the past two decades. Her accomplishments as a television pioneer, producer, magazine founder, educator and philanthropist have established her as one of the most respected and admired public figures today. With her captive audience I could further accomplish my goals to help children with learning differences. Our dream would be to have one show dedicated to raising awareness of dyslexia and what these children can accomplish. Imagine a show that includes Paul Orfelea, Richard Branson, Charles Schawb, and the 13 children.
4) Interview Paul Orfelea (GRANTED!!!) Because he is a “hyperactive dyslexic." Ofrelea has a freethinking and creative style, he was able to start and build a very successful company, Kinko's, that was based on providing college students with products and services they need at a competitive price.
5) Interview Sir. Richard Branson Because of his “rebel” entrepreneur approach to his very flourishing company Virgin. He, like myself has dyslexia and with his fluid management style was able to build an empire of multiple products and services.
6) Interview Charles Schwab Schwab is well respected around the world because he started Charles Schwab & Corporation and has a brilliant finance mind. He also struggles with dyslexia and is an advocate of learning differences.
7) 88 websites This project is also meant to leverage and prove the power of social media and the internet. We believe that a viral and networking approach will be the surest way to create awareness of our cause.
8) All in 88 days (DEADLINE 3/08/07) The extended deadline (previously 30 days) still keeps the challenge exciting and stress the importance and urgency of learning differences, but gives us the time we need to achieve more of our goals.Labels: More info about my 8 Wishes |

Just saw you on the news. Sure hope you secure all the funds. We live in a country of wealth and excess. Yet our children and their health and education needs are not met on so many levels. I wish you great success and hope the children I know with learning diabilities will benefit.
-
Hi, I know I am dyslexia, and possibly ADHD. My son was dioginosed, when he was 5 years old. We need desperately a uniform leaning program in this country for these children. My son lived 27 years with this learning indifferance and learned to manage without medication. Many think it a disablity for who ever has it, however; I have found that these children, and adults are gifted in there own ways, and thay need structure, and to learn to manage there indifferance. I am so happy, excited, that you have undertaken this cause, to give many oprotunnities to all that need that knowledge and understanding. Thanks for all your dedication and hardwork. All Success!

My mom is dyslexic and add, so am I. My son couldn't read and the school would not provide appropriate services for him. This chain of diservice to the kids has to be broken. I fought the school so my child would not be left behind like they do to dyslexics. He has he has made years of progress in a 200 hours of Lindamood bell learning process. The world needs to understand that kids can learn if taught in the right methods. I thank you for your efforts and I really hope Opra will talk to you because we need to get the word out. Best wishes.

Great job man, and don't worry if you achieve only 5 or 10% of your goals. It is not about reaching the destination, but doing the trip. Keep riding....
-
At a young age a doctor told me that because I have dyslexia I would never be able to learn a foreign language (somthing I always dreamed of doing) now I live and work in Italy. Thank you for telling kids that even though they have learning disabilites they can overcome them and be anything they want to be, and then helping them to do it. The 8 Wishes Project is an amazing voice to so many, thank you.

Dear Paul,
are there really only these few bucks for you work. The U.S. are 10 times more people than we here in Germany, and then ONLY 11.000 USD ? That is really poor. Americans, get to think a minute, if you can not afford ONE LAUSY BUCK for paul's ideas - or are they nothing worth any more in the U.S.A.?
Regards, Marc

Hope you make it!!!!!!!!!!

Such was the case when second life linden labs decided to pull the plug on several banks in the game. Some of these banks offered the system to buy lindens what real life banks would an interest rate. Some people get their secondlife money out of the banks says that Second Life depositors may have US$ 750,000 in real life money. The new rules state that only banks with proof of an applicable government registration statement or financial institution character will be able to operate with cheap linden in the game. Second Life has proven to be a popular place for companies to set up virtual shop where many players can exchange their favorite something with all kinds of linden dollars.
